away by enemy armies; and the seaport city of Tyre was
gripped by a massive depression that brought it to ruin.
It is all documented history. God did exactly what He
said He would do, right on schedule.
Tell them everything that I will do to them, but
don't expect them to listen. Cry out your warnings,
but don't expect them to respond. Say to them:
This is the nation that refuses to obey the Lord its
God, and refuses to be taught. She continues to
live a lie.
(Jeremiah 7:27,28 LB)
What about today? Is God once again warning that
His wrath is about to fall in all its fury? Is the Holy
Spirit of God warning true believe to "get their houses
in order"? Are we living right now in the time Jesus
dfibd as "the beginning of sorrows"? Are we actually
now seeing the "beginning of the end"? Is God once again
sending to this, our drinking, revelling society, a final
warning that "the party is over"? Positively yes! God has
always warned His people just prior to the outpourin[
of judgment and calamity. Just before it happened uli2
was sent by God to warn all who would listen that the
party waTs over and that a flood was coming.
God sent two angels, disguised as human prophets, to
warn ri teous to flee from the twin cities of Sodom
and Gomorrah because of the coming judgment. But in
nearly every instance in history, God's merciful warn-
ings have gone unheeded. The masses continued eating,
drinking, marrying, divorcing, and feasting and "knew
not until the flood came, and took them all away"
(Matthew 24:39 KJv). One bright, sunny day while the
Sodomite crowds went about indulging their lusts, fire
bombs fell from Heaven and consumed them in a white-
hot holocaust. It happened just as God warned it would.
