name have cast out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works? And then will I profess
unto them. I never knew you: depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

They say, "Crime has always been bad, even in Soc-
rates' time." They admit our planet is polluted, but they
look to science to work a miracle of deliverance. They
say, "Let's look on the bright side." They quote from
Paul, who said, "Whatsoever things are pure, honest,
and of good report, think on these things" (Philippians
4:8). Forgetting that Paul also warned, "For when
[men] shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruc-
tion cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with
child; and they shall not escape" (1 Thessalonians 5:3
KJV). And that, too, is something to think about!
The surest sign of divine judgment is the appearance
\ of so many false prophets predicting peace and prosperity.
\They are rising up all over the land, preaching false visions,
dreams, and the deceits of their own hearts. Many of them
are merchandisers who profit from their own predictions
of "boom times" ahead.'. ,
They look into the future and see peace, prosperity,
and abundance ahead. They prophesy what people want
to hear. Any negative message angers them, and the only
thing they can prophesy is peace, prosperity, and plenty.
Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, the proph-
ets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, nei-
ther shall ye have famine; but I will give you as-
sured peace in this place. Then the Lord said unto
me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent
them not, neither have I commanded them, neither
spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false
vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and
the deceit of their heart. Therefore thus saith the
Lord concerning the prophets that prophesy in my
