processes of human life through the faculty of intuition.
Human Mind
Now we will briefly discuss the second topic, namely, the human mind which plays
a very important role in human life. Thus JEEVANVIDYA points out,
"Mind which is the centre of human life is responsible in every way for his health and
wealth, success and prosperity, peace and bliss, adversity and calamity, misery and
failure, sorrow and pain; Man must therefore realise that it is this Mind alone which is a
friend or foe, holy or horrible, divine or devil, God or Satan.''
Mind is at the centre of human life and as such, every one must know the working
of the mind, in order to achieve success, happiness and peace in his life. Generally,
common people are not aware of the multifarious and extraordinary faculties of the mind
which manifest mainly in five different forms namely, Conscious Mind, Subconscious
Mind, Unconscious Power, Pure Consciousness and Divine Consciousness. To simplify this
subject, these five manifestations can be broadly grouped into three categories namely,
Conscious Mind, Subconscious Mind and Divine Consciousness. The conscious mind
together with the subconscious mind are totally responsible for shaping Man's material
life. As regards his spiritual progress, the process is quite different and consists in
sublimation of the conscious mind which results in the elevation of the subconscious
mind, which is eventually transformed into Divine Consciousness. Since we are dealing
with the art of beautiful living, we will briefly discuss only the working of the conscious
mind and the subconscious mind in Man's Life. The conscious mind and the subconscious
mind in fact are not basically two different minds, but they are the manifestations of the
same human mind. However the manner in which these two minds function in their
respective spheres, leads one to believe that these two minds are quite different from
each other. Let us try to understand the relative nature of these two minds. While the
conscious mind is very microscopic and limited by nature, the subconscious mind by
nature is gigantic and unlimited; while the conscious mind exists in gross state, the
subconscious mind exists in very subtle state; while the conscious mind can be easily
experienced, people are totally ignorant about the very existence of the subconscious
mind; while the conscious mind possesses very limited potential and knowledge, the
subconscious mind is omnipotent and omniscient; while the conscious mind functions
through the power of reasoning, the subconscious mind functions through the power of
intuition. It is important to note that though these two minds function in different fields,
