Relationship of Two Minds
Now, it is important to briefly understand the mutual relationship between these
two minds. As stated earlier, though the conscious mind and the subconscious mind
appear to be different from each other because of their sphere and mode of functioning,
they are very subtly connected internally and are continuously affecting and effecting
each other. They have therefore the capacity to shape Man's life beautifully or to
disfigure it completely. JEEVANVIDYA points out that,
"When the conscious mind and the sub-conscious mind are in harmony with each
other, Man attains peace and prosperity, however if these two minds are in conflict with
each other, he faces misery, difficulties and sufferings in his life.''
In human life, actions are performed by the conscious mind, while the
subconscious mind generates commensurate reactions to these actions. While the
conscious mind is influenced more by thoughts and desires, the subconscious mind is
under greater influence of emotions and imaginations. These emotions and imaginations
are helpful and become the means by which the thoughts and desires in the conscious
mind reach the deep levels of the subconscious mind. Hence those thoughts, desires and
prayers which percolate deep into the subconscious mind eventually materialise in Man's
life, while those thoughts desires and prayers that fail to percolate into the subconscious
mind do not materialise. Thus the conscious mind and the subconscious mind are totally
responsible for shaping Man's life according to the thoughts, desires, passions,
determinations, apprehensions, imaginations and emotions that are generated in the
conscious mind. JEEVANVIDYA observes that,
"A fickle, weak mind is the root cause of misery, failure and frustration, while a
steady and strong mind is the source of peace, success and happiness. Therefore,
nurture your mind with harmonious, peaceful and graceful thoughts and you will witness
miracles in your life.''
Hence Man alone is totally responsible for shaping his life and as such, God or the
so-called providence or any other power are least concerned with the pattern of life Man
builds up for himself. Generally people are in the habit of contemplating or worrying
throughout the day in respect of various aspects of their worldly life. It is the nature of
Man to habitually think about events that happened in the past or else he goes on
worrying about events that may happen in future life. In other words, Man is in the habit
of thinking about the past or future life all the time. However, unfortunately, instead of
thinking habitually of good and happy events in his life, he is constantly engrossed in
