Lesson 5 You Must Finish Before You Start
Classroom
1. Post a Quote in the room (whiteboard, flipchart, etc.) relevant to the day’s material (Use
highlighted quotes in the workbook if you would like)
2. Introduction Story: Refer to the internet for numerous “easy card tricks” (nrich.maths.org) to
share with the group. Learn to perform a simple card trick to open the class with. Again, the point we
are trying to stress is this is not magic. It’s math! Just like math allows this card trick to always work,
these principles we are teaching always work. These are all natural laws of the universe.
3. Review:
a. In lesson 1 we talked about habit and routine change. Everyone should be working on this
daily. How has this been going?
b. Who can tell me what the motivation formula is?
i. Who has a good story about a time they have used or applied the motivation scales?
c. We also discussed Pain Association Transfer and the importance of embracing pain because
with change pain is certain!
i. Who has used PAT to do something they don’t want to do in order to become who
they want to become?
d. Last class we learned about “E to the 7th Power”
i. Who can go through and name all 7 E’s?
ii. Who has a story or an example of a way they have applied it to their life.
4. Play Video 5/Lesson 5 “You Must Finish Before You Start”
5. Video Review and Class Dialogue:
a. Share your personal story regarding visualization and the impact it has had on your life and
self-image.
b. Reference: Lesson 5 Key Words
c. Open the class for dialogue, discussion and questions on this material.
6. Homework/Reading Assignment:
a. Begin to apply visualization in your daily life. Visualize yourself doing your new routine and
being the person you want to be.
b. Read Lesson 5: “You must finish before you start” parts one and two in your workbook
