Ready, Set, Write… Learning Objectives!
Presented By: Kristie Hawk
Target Audience: Elementary
What do I want students to learn? How do I want them to show me mastery? These two questions should be the foundation to
writing a measurable learning objective. In this session, you will learn what a measurable learning objective is, why it is
important to have one as part of every lesson, and work hands on with revising objectives to make them measurable with the
ultimate goal of strengthening instructional outcomes. Participants will also walk away with a variety of resources to aide in
further understanding and ability to write measurable learning objectives.

Sapphire Outside the Box
Presented By: Nicole Manley
Target Audience: K-12 Teachers
There are two features that teachers may not be familiar with: Automatic Feedback and Reports to Data Dive into
Assessments. By setting up the automatic feedback feature, you can have feedback show up for your students during
assessments. When they get an answer correct, you can have a fun "good job" meme pop up to encourage them. If they get
an answer incorrect, you can have a remediation snip pop up to explain to the student how to master the skill. This can be in
the form of text or images. There are also several reports you can pull for assessments to dive into your data by grades,
questions, respones, and standards. These reports can be used to guide your instruction, interventions, and PSSA/Keystone
Prep for the upcoming months.

Teaching and Assessing for Creative Behavior
Presented By: Melissa Jusko, Brigitt Watts, Sarah Weikert, Sally Devinney
Target Audience: Middle School and High School
Creativity is the use of the imagination or original ideas. Getting our students to think outside the box is a challenge but the
benefits are huge and result in an increased ability to analyze and solve problems. Putting the decision making in the
students’ hands makes assessment difficult. We will demonstrate how to assess the student as a creative thinker in the
environment of growth mindset.
