Meet the Europe GRS Team




               PAULA BALL
               DIRECTOR, REGIONAL IMPLEMENTATION – EUROPE, GRS
               JOINED IHG 1999

               Paula has been with IHG since 1999, starting her career hotel-based (Holiday Inn Cambridge, formally
               Posthouse) and is currently responsible for the Implementation of GRS across the Europe region.
               Paula has worked in Europe Revenue Management for several years, having successfully launched RMH in the
               Europe region in 2007 and the last six years leading the Pricing & Operations team. Her passion in developing
               teams, focusing on building capabilities and delivering results is key to the next 3 years of rolling out our
               industry leading platform.
               Paula has a Business degree from Sheffield Hallam University and is married, with a daughter who is nearly 4
               going on 14.

               KAY SAWYER
               DIRECTOR, REGIONAL TRAINING – GRS, EUROPE
               JOINED IHG 1989

               Kay has been with IHG since 1989 holding several positions within both IHG Hotels and regional roles and
               gaining valuable experience ranging from Revenue and Sales to Finance, before moving into a corporate role
               in Human Resources. Where Kay was responsible for Commercial Training in our Europe, Asia, Middle East,
               Africa, and Australasia Hotels.
               Kay’s passion for people, their development and growth is integral to her job satisfaction and she strives to
               make this possible through training. Her end goal is to equip everyone who works with the IHG Revenue
               systems in our Hotels with accessible Learning and Education to enable our people to deliver results by
               training them to perform well, progress, and most importantly, to become great at what they do, and to help
               others on our journey to become Number One.
               Kay has a HND in Hospitality Management and is a qualified pharmaceutical technician, she is married with
               two children, one fully grown son and one nearly grown daughter.

               JOANNE SHELDON
               SENIOR IMPLEMENTATION MANAGER – GRS, EUROPE
               JOINED IHG 2000

               Having always worked in the hospitality industry, Jo started hotel life with Jarvis. Then in 2000, Jo joined IHG
               as a Guest Service Manager at a new opening of a HIEX. Moving onto full service and became Reservations
               Manager at Holiday Inn Gloucester-Cheltenham, then on to be dual Reservations and Conference & Events
               Manager. Jo spent her time building up a high-performing, high achieving and loyal team, but wanted a new
               challenge.  Jo started with the UK&I Managed Estate (LRG) as a Reservations Development Manager,
               spending 2 ½ years supporting, coaching and advising across the estate.


               Jo had a brief time at a company called Agora Solutions, who are industry leaders in the installation of POS
               systems, joining them to head up an Opera team, and recruit 5 installers. Working alongside Oracle in
               delivering PMS support to all their customers, passing their official certifications to be able to work with IHG
               and Marriott installations. Before re-joining IHG in the Europe GRS Team.
               Jo is man-less, childless and degree-less!
