Introduction to the school context
N
orthcliff is often described as a South African co-educational school focusing on de-
veloping the whole child by offering a balance between academics, sports and cultural
activities (NHS, 2017) It is a school that was founded in 1969 in the Blackheath suburb
on the feet of Mountain view which has been categorised as a quintile five school. Northcliff
high is a mainstream school which graced by diversity and multiculturalism.
Currently, the school consists of a total of roughly 1 500 learners and more than 80 members
teaching stuff. Northcliff is a well-equipped school which boasts of a well-resourced library,
science laboratory, computer lab and other interactive technologies. The school also has prides
itself with a variety of sporting activities and fields. Over the years, Northcliff high has also
been a recipient of numerous awards in the aforementioned spheres and has had learners rep-
resenting Northcliff in national levels.
The school fosters a safe environment for the stuff and learners with the CCTV camera work-
ing and monitored at all times. There is also a safe zone for learners to await their parents.
Teachers are every collaborative and display unity from all the members of stuff. They all have
a common goal which is to provide effective education.
