9.3 Repair Boot up Unstable

Test Solution:
Boot up unstable: This issue could be detected by power switch card. Set the testing
period then test power on /off. The counter on the card will show the boot up times with

Red LED. Regular booting test time setting for the card is 1m20s. If the M/B still
cannot enter OS, then set the booting test time longer.
Figure 9-5 the red LED show M/B already re-boots 395 times. The gen LED is the post
as debug card.

9.4 Repair Intermittent Hang Up

Intermittent Hang up (Ex: blue screen, freeze, system slow down...)
Because intermittent system hang up is difficult to identify the defect, therefore, we

need to use burn in program for system stability test. The programs used for burn-in are
PCMARK05, 3D MARK 06 & BURN IN TEST….etc

If customer informs the system hangs up during some programs or games are running,
then the burn in test conditions must simulate the customer environment for defect

investigation.
