P. 98

Jesus said to his apostils and followers let us go to the wilderness alone to the
desert place in Bethsaida and rest awhile for they had no chance to rest nor eat.
Jesus and his apostils along with many followers enter boats and left for the
crossing place. Those who were hungering and thirsting for the Word heard
where he was going. They followed by land walking as they passed farms,
villages and cities the Word spread throughout the countryside. The people left
what they were doing and followed the crowds. The sick and those who were in
need of healing followed and those who needed help were helped. A great
multitude hastened to the crossing place and arrived before Jesus. Jesus went
out from the boat and saw defenseless, helpless followers gathering to him. He
had compassion on them as a guardian angel. Jesus went out from the boat to a
mountain. The feast of the Passover of the Jews was at hand. Jesus lifted up his
eyes and saw a great multitude coming to him and he accepted them. He went
onto the mountain and as he sat down his followers drew near to him and the
multitude gathered to hear him. Jesus said to the apostles have everyone set
down on the grass in groups of fifty and one hundred. The apostles directed the
multitude to sit down in groups by one hundred and by fifties. There were five
thousand men beside women and children.

He had compassion on them because they were tired and scattered like sheep
which have no guardian. He said to his apostles the harvest is great the laborers
are few urge the owner of the harvest to bring more laborers to his harvest.
He opened his mouth and taught them, saying,

Blessed are the humble theirs is the kingdom of
                   heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice they shall be well satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful they shall have mercy.
Blessed are those who are pure in heart they shall see God.

                   Light of the world
As long as I am in the world I am the light of the world and you shall be
enlightened by the light of life. I give light just as a lamp gives you light with its
shinning. No man lights a lamp and puts it in a hidden place nor do they light a
lamp and put it neither under a basket nor under a bed. He puts it in a lamp
holder on a lamp stand. Those who enter see the light. The lamp gives light to all
                   who are in his Temple.
