2020 - 2021 NJCAA POLICIES MANUAL
NEW MEMBER PROCEDURE
(formerly found in Article I, Section 1(C))
1. An official letter of interest to join the NJCAA from potential member administration. This letter should be
accompanied by $2,500.
2. Face-To-Face meeting with NJCAA Administration at potential member institution. Visits will consist of, but not
limited to the following:
a. Meet with the Athletic Director and any additional member brought forth by the AD
(Request presence of the president or senior administrator as well.)
b. Walk through the LOI Process and Tutorial training
c. Review Athletic Facilities
d. Introduce to Connect
e. Provide tutorial for compliance
f. Review national partners; let them know of all partners and benefits
g. Review NJCAA National Office staff
h. Connect them with their BOR Representative
i. General NJCAA Knowledge from administration from staff
j. Question & Answer session
3. Report back to the national office with a detailed review of experience at the institution and move forward with granted
access or denial from the BOR.
4. Declaration of Membership and also completion of divisional commitments.
5. Complete membership process and pay appropriate dues
6. August 1 of following year, institutions will have full membership not including postseason play, and following year
on August 1 will be given full membership with postseason participation.

REQUEST FOR REINSTATEMENT FROM PENALTIES/SANCTIONS
(formerly found in Article I, Section 4(A))
1. Request must be made in writing to the Office of Eligibility and the Board of Regents (BOR).
2. The BOR shall determine by majority vote if the member college shall be reinstated.
3. Should the BOR deny reinstatement, the member college shall be subject to an additional year of probation, after
which the member college shall be reinstated automatically.
DEFINITION OF MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING

Good standing is contingent upon, but not limited to, institutional attendance at or participation in (online, webinar or
electronic format) an NJCAA sanctioned compliance workshop at least once every three years.
STATISTICAL REPORTING

1. Such information shall be filed no later than 4:00 P.M. (MST) of each Monday following athletic events from the
“previous week”. For these purposes, the “previous week” is defined as the previous Monday through the Sunday
immediately preceding such reporting deadline; provided, however, that if any Monday is a Federal Holiday that the
