Coverage is from the Alberta border in the east, to Haida Gwaii in the west, from Quesnel in the
south, to the Yukon border to the north.
Mission: The Crisis Prevention, Intervention & Information Centre for Northern BC is a non-profit
organization dedicated to providing emotional support, suicide intervention and referral information
to the residents of Northern British Columbia
Services offered:
• phone-line services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to those in crisis.

o 2000 resource listings on major social services, self-help and support groups, health
organizations, fraternal service groups, youth groups and activities, emergency services and
more available through our phone line services and in print via our Community Resource
Directory which is updated periodically.

o workshops such as ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) available to the
public and various agencies.

Mission: The Youth Against Violence Line was established in the early 1990's as part of the Taking
a Stand campaign, an initiative of the B.C. Government. The campaign was designed to
encourage young people to take an active role in preventing violence amongst their peers.
