OSMP Ranger Retirement and Service Awards

The OSMP Department recognizes rangers who retire in good standing after 20 or more years of
service or who medically retire after 10 years of service. Retiring commissioned rangers receive a
framed certificate with mounted badge, a retired officer identification card, and a flat badge.

Retired rangers achieve the “Retired OSMP Ranger-Police Officer” title and status. The ID and
status honors retiring rangers’ career achievements with the OSMP.

Rangers who medically retire in good standing after 10 years of service are eligible for retired
ranger status. The work group will recognize, on a case-by-case basis, rangers who receive a
medical retirement with fewer than 10 years of service.

Rangers who resign in good standing with 10 to 19 years of service will receive a Certificate
              of Appreciation.

(Note: Retired ranger status is an exclusive title specific to the OSMP Department ranger work
group and does not affect Colorado PERA retirement status.)
