Shame
Whatever is begun in anger, ends in shame.
~Benjamin Franklin
Noted author and shame researcher, Brene Brown, defines
shame as, “the intensely painful feeling that we are unworthy of
love and belonging.” Shame exacerbates many other negaAve
emoAons, and thrives on secrecy and feeling alone. Not
surprisingly, shame is healed by disclosure and empathy.
