Cultured
Whey
How did the famous Greek Achilles get all his
stamina and strength? Legends say he was
dipped in the river Styx, but I think part of his
super powers came from cultured whey.
Cultured whey was known by the Greeks long
ago as “healing water.” It’s a byproduct after
milk has been coagulated with rennet to form
cheese curds. It’s been noted that Hippocrates,
the father of medicine, recommended whey as
a treatment over 2,400 years ago. So, you
could say it’s been well tried and tested.
What’s interesting is that all the historic
healing uses are being confirmed by modern
medical research, making it a superfood long
before the term was even invented.
