P. 21

This is a major reason why you elevate satan, you don’t know more of Christ. Remember

that many churches don’t talk much about Christ. They talk more about the bible which is not
wrong. What is wrong is that we let the church elevate satan instead of elevating Christ. The

church generally must be exposed to who Jesus is. He is the deliverer. He is the designer of this
world. He is everything to the church. When you know this and you put your faith in it, then you

will talk less of satan and talk more of Christ.

               3. Intermingling culture with christianity – Gal. 5:9, Lev. 18:30, Gal. 1:14, Col. 2:8, Jer. 1:12
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition
of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ (Col 2:8).

This is a major reason why the church has not been elevating Christ. When you come

from a culture where traditionally the devil is elevated by not being careful, you may find
yourself fixing into that mould. You can actually say that those who are very traditional and

cultural will always be having more of the devil in their language. Such people think that they
cannot divorce their experience from what is happening, so, they don’t know the true power of

Jesus Christ. Whereas, it is not the fact that the devil doesn’t have power but it is the fact that

Jesus is more powerful. You shouldn’t know this theoretically alone, you should know it in your
own life and in your own experience.

               4. Incident instead of identity – 1Pet. 2:9, Rom. 12:5, 2Cor. 5:17
                       But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his
               marvellous light (1Peter 2:9).

There is a tendency to be so concerned about an incident that happens to somebody in

your environment who is a christian. Suppose somebody has an accident and died as a christian
and most of the time, you say the devil caused it. By confessing that, you are actually saying that

Jesus allowed that person to die whereas He has power to save him but He refused to do it. You
need to understand that you must draw your identity from Christ. Do you dwell on your culture,

your tradition, your age or your background, these things will not allow you to elevate Christ.

Elevating Christ means that you are trying to now impose the christian values and tradition on
your culture and your inability to do that will never make you confess that Jesus Christ is bigger

than the devil. This you must avoid doing.
