CASE STUDY 1
Stock and Supply Chain:
In adherence to the contractual KPI’s Selex have from the MOD on ACT2 Astute
Electronics Ltd are aware that there will be a requirement for stock holding and values to
increase on site at our Hertford facility throughout contract period.
The decision to agree to this has not been taken lightly, we are working with the supply
chain and internally to deliver a solution which enables Astute to provide true availability
whilst protecting all parties against financial penalties set within contract.
The stock levels will be monitored and controlled by the Astute team to make sure that
unnecessary stock holding is not taking place, this will be a systematic process with
manual interaction and checks carried out regularly.
Maximum stock holding for Astute Electronics Ltd within contract will be £2m, this is
calculated as 12 months stock based on the data received on ACT2 and will where
possible flow down the supply chain.
Summary:
Astute Electronics Ltd has enjoyed a successful relationship with Leonardo for over 20
years now, working the whole Finmeccanica group and would like to think we have
taken that time to position ourselves as a worthy strategic partner for such
opportunities as ACT. Since contract award of ACT1 we have made considerable
investment in personnel, facilities and systems to deliver a market leading solution and
we will continue to do so in support of ACT 2 and other prospective business
development opportunities with Leonardo.
