DEMOLITION PROCESS
The Chhatrapati Bridge was supported on Mushroom
shaped pier which were constructed cast-in situ. For
the demolition of these piers, diamond cutter was
used. The diamond cutter is strong enough to cut
both the reinforcement and the concrete. The pier
was cut at two location along its length and then
tilted on the ground with the help of excavators. It is
den broken down into smaller pieces with the help
of rock breaker
