• Provide comprehensive management reporting on the status of the section
activities used in the detection and elimination of problem areas, high-level
review and evaluation proactive production management, trend analysis
based on historic data and other reporting parameter as needed;
• Control water treatment budget and assist in the preparation of annual
operating budget;
• Ensure adequate supplier of chemicals, consumables, spare parts and
equipment;
• Ensure needed records are kept to comply with all laws and regulations
applicable to all plant operations;
• Plan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinate staffs;
• Develop and plan event management and emergency solution;
• To motivate, coach and review the performance of subordinates, supervisors
and staff, ensures proper training and certification of assigned staff; and
• Submit a report to Operation Centre on any failure or breakdown.
Plant Superintendent
The Plant Superintendent is the most senior personnel based at the site and is
responsible for the overall organization, management, direction and control of the
technical and supervisory work in the operations, maintenance and laboratory
analysis at water treatment plants. Key accountability is to ensure efficient
operations of treatment plant and continuous supply of water that meets all
applicable codes, laws, guidelines and standards. He is assisted by a Technician.
His duties include:
• Plan and assign work to subordinates, supervisors and participates in the
work of subordinates engaged in plant operations and process control, plant
laboratory analysis and preventive maintenance and repair of plant
equipment and facilities;
• Serves as the officer responsible in charge ensuring the region meets its
demand, reviews laboratory reports for operational performance of the plant
and oversees changes in the chemical processes of the plant;
• Participates with management planning for current and future capacity needs
and plant modifications for increased efficiency;
• Responsible to ensure strict compliance to health and safety procedures at
water treatment plants;
• Supervise plant laboratory operations and supervise contracted or in-house
analysis of more complex properties;
• Supervise and participate in analysis and response to customer complaints
about water color, taste and odor;
