Part C: Information Relating to the Safety Management System Date Aug 2019
Operator
The Operator work in a team of two and are on 8-hour rotating shift. Their duties
include:
• To carry out jar test;
• To carry out water quality test;
• To check laboratory equipment and calibrate regularly;
• To prepare chemical solution for water treatment;
• To check stock of diesel;
• To operate the generator set;
• To operate pumps;
• To perform regular checkups on personal protective equipment, procedures,
health, safety and hygiene;
• Measure river and dam levels;
• Maintain and clean the intake;
• Measure clear water tanks and balancing reservoirs;
• Clean sedimentation, flocculation and filter tank;
• Record all data into record book i.e. jar test results, water quality, chemicals
stock, chemicals used, pumps operation, production and any maintenance
works;
• Carry out housekeeping work to repair minor works;
• Do minor preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment;
• Report all failures or defects to the leader or technicians;
• Make report to Operation Centre on any failure or breakdown;
• Carry out minor operation and maintenance of pumps or genset; and
• Ensure security fence and gate are closed at all times.
Manager, Safety and Health
The Manager, Safety and Health is based at the headquarters located at Larkin,
Johor Bahru. He and his team are responsible to advice management and support
the various departments in ensuring that work being carried out conforms to
established ESH policies, standards and procedures. His responsibilities include the
following:
• Ensure that all activities carried out are in compliance with OSHA and FMA
Acts and Regulations;
• Provide advice to the management on the requirements of safety and health
legislation and practices;
