               C.3.0 PERSONNEL SELECTION

               The arrangement for training of persons working on the site

               The management of Water Treatment Plant will identify appropriate training to the
               personnel  work  at  the KT1  & KT2  Water Treatment Plant  and shall  ensure  the
               adequacy of training  being given to ensure job competence. All personnel  are
               equipped with specific skills through a various training program such as:
                   •  On-the-job Training
                   •  Skill Development Training


               C.3.1 Employee Selection

               The selection and recruitment of staff is usually the duty of the respective Head of
               Department who is also responsible  for developing the job  functions.  The Central
               Services Department then initiates and manages the recruitment process.

               A job specification is developed and the  process of selection  and recruitment is
               carried out. Selection and recruitments  are usually carried out through internal
               advertisement, recommendations  form staff, external  advertisements and  also
               contacts with Industrial Training Institutes. Designated officers  form the respective
               Departments supported by Human Resource staff  will  interview the short-listed
               candidates. Selection is  based on  qualification,  relevant experiences  and also on
               potential for career development.


               C.3.2 Training

               The  management is  very keen  to ensure  that safety receives  full consideration
               especially in planning new operations. The management also believes that technical
               training to upgrade the skills of the personnel also plays a significant role in the safe
               operation of the plant.

               Training needs of the company are identified by the respective Heads of Department
               and coordinated by the Administration/Human Resource (HR) Department. The
               Department collates  external courses  and recommends those  the address  the
               training needs of the employees in accordance to the annual Training Plan. Records
               of all training courses are documented and kept in the employee personal file.

               All new employees are given training on the company system  of operation with
               emphasis on the company  safety and health  policies. Every new employee is
