ISLAM and SHARIA LAW
In his book, Slavery, Terrorism and Islam, Dr.
Peter Hammond explains how Islam is a complete and
total system of life—it has religious, legal, political,
economic, social and military components. As the
population of Muslims increase relative to the domestic
population, its demands and militancy increase with
persecution against nonbelievers and the establishment
Sharia Law.
The Britannica dictionary defines jihad as “a
religious duty imposed on Muslims to spread Islam by
waging war.” Several European countries have “No-Go
Zones” where Sharia Law prevails, and national author-
ities do not enter. Sharia law is the law of Islam as
stipulated in the Quran; it regulates public and private
behavior. England is experiencing an increase in Sharia
courts dispensing their justice across Britain.

In their attempt to foster globalization and diver-
sity, Europe and Canada protect many aspects of Islam,
including Sharia Law. Sharia law imposes harsh punish-
ment on people who transgress its teachings. For
example, the following transgressions are punishable by
death:
• Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran.

• Criticizing Muhammad or denying that he is a
prophet is punishable by death.

• A Muslim who becomes a non-Muslim.
• A non-Muslim who leads a Muslim away from
Islam.
