2.4.4 Laminate Wall Panels
Grey laminate boards are to be used on the
inside face of the shopfront elevation where
required (in many store layouts only the white
(feature) tile and wall graphics will be used)
All laminate panels must be fully balanced on
an MDF core. The grey laminate specified on the
wall finishes drawing is to be customer facing.
The balancing laminate to the rear of the panel
can be the contractor’s choice to provide the
most cost effective solution.
All laminate wall panels must be fully
mechanically fixed. A full length aluminium J-trim
must be installed for the laminate wall panels
to sit into, at skirting head level. The laminate
wall board must be rebated, if necessary at the
bottom rear edge to sit tightly into the trim.
In plan, laminate wall panels must only be
jointed in internal corners, by butt joints with one
panel fully passing the other. The butt joint must
be tight and straight along the entire length
and NOT sealed with silicone sealer.
