Trung-Thanh took a deep sigh, while he is looking up to the
ceiling.
“You already knew ...! Vietnam used to be French
colony...! We do not have freedoms and independence, so their
actions and their look were unacceptable for Vietnamese people.
We must have the patience to live because of Communist out
there.”

“I do not like the French colonialists. Cause they bombed
our village, killed almost the innocent people in my village, and
my uncle Son.” In an angry voice, Nguyen said.

Trung-Thanh looked at his son, and in the serious voice, he
talked with his son:

“Nguyen. I do agree with you. I do not want to be on their
side too. Sometimes very hard to decide between right and
wrong, but when you chose what you want to do, you must stand
and die for it. To be a man you must be honest, duty and
country.”

“Yes, Sir... I will be...”

My-Trinh looked at her son; she shook her head while
glancing to Trung-Thanh.

“I think he does not understand clearly what you just said.”

“I knew that, but I wanted my words like a nail that was
slowly driving into his brain until he becomes a good man.

After 1893 French militarist extended over Cambodia and
Laos, they became a powerful dominated force in the Indochina
like others colonial powers of the period in the world. They
dominated the people in the colony countries as slavery, took all
the natural resource for profit, and improved their subject people
living standards to be the cruel masters.
