29.2.4 If the student wants to extend the duration of his/her leave of
absence, he/she is required to repeat the process stipulated in
Clause 29.1.
29.3 If the student wants to take a leave of absence in the middle of a semester
or outside the specified time given by the Institute, the special approval from the Dean is
required.
29.3.1 If the student applies for leave of absence within the first 2 weeks of
regular semester, all registered subjects shall not be recorded in the
transcript.
29.3.2 If the student applies for leave of absence after the specified period
given in Clause 29.3.1 and receives the approval from the Dean,
all registered subjects will be recorded and given letter “W” in the
transcript and no refund for maintenance and tuition fees.
29.4 The student who registers for the first semester and receives special approval
for taking leave of absence under Clause 29, is not eligible to receive refund for maintenance
and tuition fees. The record in transcript shall follow the rules stated in Clause 29.3.
Section 13: Changing of the Faculty and Changing of the Program
30. Changing of the faculty or changing of the program.
30.1 The student who has the intention to change the faculty or change the
program, must have studied in the previous faculty or program not less than one normal
academic semester.
30.2 When the student has received an approval to change the faculty or
program, the accepting Program Chair shall notify the student about transferable subjects and
credits accounted for calculation of GPAX. The calculation of GPAX shall be done after the
student has completed a semester in the new program. The transferred subjects shall be
recorded according to the Institute’s rules.
30.3 In applying for changing the faculty or program, the student is required
to state necessary and sufficient reasons, which shall be considered by the related Deans or
Program Chairs on a case by case basis.
30.4 Changing of faculty or program can be done not more than 2 times
throughout the study period. The request shall be submitted to the relevant Deans or Program
Chairs and completed before the registration of the coming semester.
30.5 When the student has received the approval to change the faculty or
program, the relevant program committee, with the consent of Program Chair or Dean, shall
notify the student about subjects that can be transferred and accounted for GPAX calculation.
The GPAX calculation shall be done after the student has completed a semester in the new
program.
