Solution Development Process
• A key performance indicator is a specific and measurable target and is used to
show whether the activity has achieved (or moved towards) its core purpose, and
is used to measure project success
• Both business decision makers and solution architects should be involved in
determining key performance indicators
• When determining the technical value of the business case, three assessment
factors that should be addressed are: solution portability, maintenance policies
and levels of interoperability
• Two sections which should be included within the Introduction section of a
business case are Background and Purpose of Case
• Factors to consider when determining the levels of consumption and adoption of
solutions and services include: increased staffing levels, utilization of innovative
new technologies and ability to accurately measure outcomes
