Organising Committee

With the task of organising the South West AGC
25 falling to 1 Armoured Infantry Brigade in
late 2016, an estimate was conducted to identify
suitable activities, stands and a central location
and date that would encourage maximum
attendance from across the region. The SPS
Detachment from 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment
of Fusiliers were drafted in rather quickly to form
the nucleus of the muscle power an event of this
magnitude requires with representatives from
3rd Regiment Royal Military Police and 10 Army
Education Centre coming together to complete
the organising committee. Preparations began in
early February 2017 with the publicising of the
Tidworth AGC 25 on social media and local radio
and the booking of external stands and activities.
This was quickly followed by Captain Jess Beck and
her team painstakingly confirming the attendance
of personnel from Andover to Plymouth (and all
locations in between) before arranging fixtures,
sufficient tents and suitable feeding arrangements
for the impending masses.
