Voice of the Business 2019 – Employee Engagement Survey
1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
2019 has seen Norman Rourke Pryme become a medium sized company, reaching sixty permanent staff
with further growth anticipated. The board of directors will meet prior to the annual away day to evaluate
the company growth and create a strategy for the next three years at minimum.
To ensure the voice of the non-board members of NRP are considered during the strategy meeting, this
employee engagement survey was undertaken to collect their opinions and suggestions. The purpose of
this survey is three-fold:
1. To establish the general feeling of the staff towards working for the company.
2. To establish areas where improvement is required to better the working environment for staff.
3. To collect the suggestions and concerns of the staff to be considered and addressed during the
strategy meeting.
1.2 COLLECTION METHOD
An online survey software was used for the creation, distribution and collection of the raw data. Microsoft
Excel was used for the analysis.
The following outlines the methodology for the engagement survey.
1.3 ANALYSIS AND FEEDBACK
All analysis and conclusions in this report are aimed to be as objective and impartial as possible. See
Appendix A for the raw data.
Whilst the data collection was anonymous, participants were asked what part of the business they
worked for to enable greater targeting of future improvement regimes. The categories were:
- Bristol Office (including the London traffic team)
- Exeter Office
- London Office - Highways Team
- London Office - Construction Team
- London Office - Admin & Business Support
