Voice of the Business 2019 – Employee Engagement Survey
All responses for question groups 2 – 9 were based on a Likert scale with the following options:
- Strongly Agree – scored 5
- Agree – scored 4
- Neither Agree nor Disagree – scored 3
- Disagree – scored 2
- Strongly Disagree – scored 1
The results to the survey were collected, and each scored as above. The mean score for each question
was then calculated. For those questions which achieved a mean score of 4 or above, no further
investigation into the origins of the score was undertaken. For all questions where the mean score was
below 4, the data was analysed further to determine whether there was a particular area of the
company that showed a trend of negative responses.

London Office - Highways Team 14
London Office - Construction Team 5
London Office - Admin & Business Support 2
Total response rate to the survey was 86% (37 out of 43 invited).
