Nomination Recognition 2017
Report by Individual Nominee
CATEGORY: INNOVATIVE WAYS OF WORKING
NOMINEE NOMINATOR DEPARTMENT
Stephen McBride Attila Pocze Global Sourcing 200400
Describe the situation or event related to the individual's or team's performance.
Steve had to work outside of the typical GOJO systems. All plans had to be carefully calculated and timed to
assure the seamless transition of assets.
Steve had to create new ways of calculating, and organizing tool capacities, press utilizations, inventory builds
to identify best timing of different actions.
Steve demonstrated that he is skilled in Organizational Agility. "Knowledgeable about how organizations work;
knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal network; understands the origin
and reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures; understands the cultures of organizations."
Steve was very purposeful and planned the transfer without putting GOJO business at risk.
Describe in detail the individual's or team's notable behaviors.
Since this type of work is not something GOJO does frequently, Steve had to learn very quickly, identify the
gaps, identify risk mitigation steps, and overcome challenges.
After learning from the first transfer, Steve perfected this move and adapted his learning's to the subsequent
transfers. These transfers took place without any equipment transfer issues and without any risk to GOJO
customer service levels.
What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
He successfully supported many aspects of the automation, and mold transfers from OHTI to RS&B.
Throughout the transition of automation and molds he scheduled the tasks and deliverables so that the
transition was seamless to GOJO.
