        Report by Cross Functional Team

       CATEGORY: CROSS FUNCTIONAL TEAM AWARD

       PROJECT: Wooster Rail Unloading Team

       CATEGORY: INNOVATIVE WAYS OF WORKING

       NOMINATOR: Thomas Scarberry
       SPONSOR: 7970

       LEADER: 7879,4047

       PROFILE:
Describe the situation or event related to the individual's or team's performance.
The team delivered extraordinary results given all the challenges that were new to
GOJO as part of bringing rail cars of ethanol to the Wooster site. The initial plan to
reactivate the existing Wooster rail, was eliminated by a Norfolk Southern review
which revealed that the curve that was once appropriate for rail cars, was too tight
for those used for our application. This required a rework of the plan, which the
team addressed quickly and efficiently coming up with a superb option for the rail
unloading site. The complexity required to ensure safe operations of Ethanol
loading and operating at heights was beyond our initial considerations. However,
the team continued to excel and took our learnings and adapted our approach to
deliver superior safety operations of our new rail car system on site ?setting higher
standards for fall protection than those of our current vendor. The vapor recovery
system designed by GOJO engineers eliminated the need for an EPA emissions
permit and the annual record keeping required to maintain it. The team used
foresight to lay the foundation for expansion of the system by piping ethanol into the
building as we build out blending operations at Wooster in the future, and by
incorporating into the design a potential future rail expansion into the rail bay in
building 64 or construction of a second siding to the south with minimal disruption to
the existing rail siding service. By overcoming many challenges, adapting the plan,
and executing with excellence, and working together as a team the first rail car was
delivered and unloaded ahead of schedule at Wooster Campus. Working
effectively as a cross functional team and leveraging learning of outside partners
the team delivered a new to GOJO operations.

Describe in detail the individual's or team's notable behaviors.
? Collaboration capabilities with internal cross functional team members as well as
with outside partners that offered valuable learnings to help us shape the solution
? Dealing with ambiguity throughout the project as the team learned and adapted
solutions to ensure we could off load ethanol in an efficient and safe manner to
        support operations
? Learning on the fly to proactively seek out others that performed similar
activities/operations and engage to learn best practices and risk points - to learn
        from others experiences

What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
? Rail car successfully delivered to Wooster site and successfully loaded,
