In 2017, the QP5 packaging line was able to substantially improve performance.
The following list includes those most easily recognized accomplishments:
? Set 3 production records for 90k, 95k, and 101,500 bottles filled and packed in a
single shift.
? Established Game of Work goals for improvement in throughput and productivity
and raised those goals 6 times during 2017.
? Posted 23 ?Green Shifts? in 2017 (10 on 1st, 11 on 2nd, and 2 on 3rd. 3rd shift
runs production significantly less frequently than 1st or 2nd). Green Shifts are
entire shifts of production with no down time. No other packaging line posted more
Green Shifts in 2017. FL2, one of the newest packaging lines in the plant, posted
20 Green Shifts in 2017.
? Increased production capacity to allow 1 oz. bottles of Purell, formerly filled by a
contract manufacturer, to be brought in-house to QP5. Tolling cost $0.136/bottle.
Direct labor cost at Lippman Campus $0.042/bottle. From April through December
2017, QP5 produced 6.3 million bottles of these products.
