NOMINEE NOMINATOR DEPARTMENT
Matthew Hartman David Sargent Engineering Supply Chain 200550
Describe the situation or event related to the individual's or team's performance.
In early February Matt was asked to go to Wooster and support the completion of OQs for roughly 70 SKUs on
FTO1. The original plan was for Matt to author the 70 OQ documents that needed to be developed and then
split the responsibility of executing those documents with another Controls resource. The goal was to complete
all 70 SKU OQs by the end of April.
Describe in detail the individual's or team's notable behaviors.
Matt quickly developed a method for creating the OQ documents that allowed him to author all the documents
before the end of February. Due to attrition, Matt became the sole resource assigned to the OQ work on FTO1
and due to production needs agreed to work on 2nd shift to complete the OQ testing. Matt worked closely with
production scheduling and the FTO team to identify the priority SKUs and OQ those first. As Matt worked thru
the process, he identified a strategy to reduce scrap during OQ testing. He reduced scrap from 3 or 4 totes of
bottles and keys to only those labels & shippers used for the OQ. He was also able to train operations
resources and work with them to improve the number of OQs that could be completed in an 8-hour shift from 1
to 2.
What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
All 70 SKUs, excepting 3 that could not be OQ'd due to equipment issues, had OQs completed by mid-April,
approximately 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Matt took work that had been intended to be completed by 2
resources in 12 weeks and completed it himself in 10 weeks.
