134 Satan in the Sanctuary
Admittedly these situations might hang on, or even re-
peat together at some future time. Possibly the Tribulation
Temple will be built at once, but then stand there by the
century awaiting its desecrator.
But the presence of other prophesied phenomena of the
end times—earthquakes, the Russian-Egyptian alliance,
world ecumenism—combined with the "ideal" Antichrist
setup, makes even conservative Bible scholars think twice.
It is beyond the scope of this book to list the issues that

there's never been a better time to think it over.
THE BAD NEWS
This is the doctrine of the Antichrist, who will borrow
the principles of religion to bolster his world dictatorship.
This is his "gospel."
First of all, God and Christ have got to go, in his view.
John saw this and set it down clearly: "And every spirit
that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the
spirit of the antichrist" (1 Jn 4:3 NASB).
Instead, he establishes a personality cult, based on wor-
ship of himself. He definitely demands the worship of the
entire human race. Only those few who receive Christ dur-

their troubles.) His religious cult is by far the most success-
ful, in terms of membership, in history: "All [unbelievers]
who dwell on the earth will worship him" (Rev 13:8
NASB).
He will even have his own version of John the Baptist.
Called the "false prophet" in Revelation 16:13, this pro-
motion-minded front man will apparently utilize the power
of Satan to gather the worshipers, and will be capable of
quite a few fascinating illusions. Bringing down the fire
