Step by Step—A Plan of Action 71

(They write "G-D" in respect to the Jewish command-
ments concerning the unpronounceable name of the Lord.
Actually writing out "GOD" is contrary to Orthodox prac-
                            tices).
The ad goes on to inform the Israeli public, "Our object
is to explore JEWISH sources to develop moral, political and
social pressures with the ultimate goal of rebuilding the
TEMPLE." A complete copy of the ad, with its remarkable
                           illustrations, follows:
The authors followed up on the offer in the ad and re-
ceived the 142-page On the Study of the Bible without the
Book. Most of this book is devoted to presenting the or-
ganization's unique, biblically oriented designs for clothing
and jewelry. But toward the end of the book, author Harry
Zuckerberg urges the reader to be concerned about and take
concerted action toward the rebuilding of the Temple in
                           Jerusalem.
Zuckerberg argues interestingly for the rebuilding:

WHY WE NEED THE THIRD TEMPLE
We look in our houses of worship and find our youth
noticeably absent. They do not attend because they feel
the services do not relate to their day to day problems.
The real problem we feel is that a state of mourning still
exists for the destruction of the first and second Temples
(Psalm 137). We find today instrumental music and dance
on a very limited basis as a means of worship. The re-
striction of prayers primarily to reading and singing prayers
is frustrating the personality of our people. It would appear
that to reach fulfillment in prayer, we must find various
ways to cater to the diverse talents and personalities
amongst us. Those whose personality will not allow them
to learn how to pray in the accepted form must find outlets
for prayer. The third Temple would close this gap of
