Mr Angula Thomas Ndjemb
occurred in the community culminating from struggles for leadership. Mr
Ndjembo immensely benefited from the wisdom of his grandmother and
these lessons would later be displayed in his ability to tell stories to his peers,
especially at school. As a teenager, he became highly knowledgeable Honoris Causa
on the origins and histories of both his paternal and maternal lineages.
The oral traditions and stories transmitted by his grandmother laid the
foundation of a life-long inspiration which he would later transform into
written works.
Whilst working for the SWABC and thereafter NBC, Mr. Ndjembo
developed an inclination for drama and prepared various scripts for the
radio. He prepared the following scripts which aired on NBC:
(1) Ohole yomakaya nenge owina: (Anti-smoking drama): one
episode;
(2) Okuvalwa kwaJesus: (Christmas drama): one episode;
(3) Okana oke eta ekumbu lyamwene / Be carefull of your tongue:
(Serial drama): 12 episodes;
(4) Pukulula aantu yandje / Advise my people: (Serial drama): 22
episodes serial drama;
(5) Osigo uunake yakwetu / Up to when my friends: UNFPA sponsored:
(Drama on family planning): 28 episodes which was supervised
by Tom Kazungu and Dr. Kimani Jogu from Kenya); and
(6) Battle at Quito Cuanavale: (Drama): one episode.
The aforementioned plays were performed for the Aawambo audience
and were meant to educate the communities on national issues such
as family planning, the negative effects of casual gossip, and the
significance of the birth of Jesus. As from 1988, Mr. Ndjembo was serving
in the Oshindonga Curriculum committee, and served for more than ten
years where he developed the love and desire for writing plays, short
stories and novels. As a result, he produced the following literary works:
