Here’s what is involved in working on a publication:

                     TIME
While the complexity of jobs varies, most publications require two to six weeks from
the time the Marketing Office receives the original copy until printed copies are
                     delivered.

                     COSTS
Planning, editing, designing, and typesetting are provided free by the
Communications and Marketing directorate. However, printing costs, binding, and
other production services must be paid for by the office where the publication is
originating from. For publications that must be printed off-campus, we must have
your purchase order number before the publication can be delivered to the printer.
Keep in mind though online publications as alternative, as explained earlier.

                     COPY
The office or directorate initiating a printed piece is responsible for providing
the original content of the publication. The Communications and Marketing
directorate will edit a draft copy for correctness of style, or you may bring in a
rough outline and we will produce a copy for your review. Please proofread the
copy carefully and sign-off, as major changes made after the publication is in
production are costly and cause delays.

                     APPROVAL
Final approval of information rests with the directorate or office initiating the
                     request.

             6) Marketing Coordination
The Communications and Marketing directorate is responsible for creating meaningful
messages through communication, ideas, images, and names that deliver upon the
vision, mission and objective of the University. Furthermore, the directorate is responsible
for ensuring that messages and images are delivered consistently through participating
in major trade exhibitions, identify periodically various key areas to advertise and
ensuring uniformed branding and visibility of campuses/faculties/centres.
Our regional offices are charged with the overall functions and responsibilities of the
                 Communications and Marketing directorate.
