5) Graphic Design, Photography and Publications
a) Photo opportunity procedures
If you have an event that is visually attention grabbing, i.e. interesting
people doing active things, the directorate can offer a photo opportunity.
Such an event often makes a good photo in the newspapers or a good
visual for TV cameras. Photography editors are looking for photos that are
interesting, informative and entertaining. These photos are used for our
newspaper Forum (Online/Proper), as well as other publications.

b) Publication Procedures
The Communications and Marketing Directorate is responsible for the
quality and production of UNAM publications. Any printed piece that
is intended for distribution off campus to a mass audience must be
coordinated through the Communications and Marketing directorate and
signed off by both parties before distribution.
Contact the Graphic Designer and Marketing Officer early in the planning
stages of your publication to arrange a meeting. Allow sufficient time for
writing, editing, typesetting, designing, and printing of your publication.
Be prepared to discuss the intended audience of your publication, your
deadline, your budgeted amount and your plans for distributing the
publication. As indicated earlier, print media is now mostly replaced with
online media placement forms. For our latest FlipBuilder Online publications

or indicate to Graphic Designer/Marketing Officer that online distribution
would be your preference.
