“Ha-ha. Who has come with you?”
“Ama,” he said, pointing at her. “Ama, here.”
Ama beamed. “How’s your journey, Samphel?”
“Hi, Ama,” he leaned to hug her. “Good.”
They hauled the luggage into the car and drove home.
Ama told Doctor about Samphel’s arrival. Over tea,
Samphel shared his terrific days at his college. The
sumptuous meals and pleasure of attending the classes.
That inspired Ugyen. He wished to go to Sherbets
College.
The doorbell rattled. Au Lham opened the door. The
doctor got in.
“Hi, Samphel.”
“Hi, dad.”
He hugged his son. “How was your journey?”
“Fine. How have you been, dad?”
“I am fine. And you?”
“Good.”
Doctor was an alumnus of Sherubtse College. So he
asked Samphel about the college infrastructure. Samphel
