TEARS OF SUFFERING
“Sorry. It was urgent.”
“Really?” she snapped. “Now that you have Tshoden,
you easily forget Ugyen, don’t you?”
Samphel scratched his head and grinned. “Actually…”
“Look,” she said, staring. “Next time, I’ll tell mom.”
“Sorry, Au,” he said and turned to Ugyen. “Ugyen, I am
so sorry.”
In the evening the next day, the phone rang. Samphel
rushed out of his room and picked the receiver. “Yes, yes,
okay….yap,” he whispered. He put on his jeans and
sneaked out for the discotheque.
Ugyen waited for him till midnight and went to sleep. The
next morning, he found Samphel in his bed. So, he
sneaked into the living room and sat there, recollecting
every piece of advice Ama had given him earlier. Tears
relished his eyes. “I can’t believe I ignored divine advice.”
In the transience of Ugyen’s existence, Tshoden came as
a fairy, but cast such a spell he would never fall for any
wench. When Samphel cared little about him, he didn’t
find a reason to stay with them. So, he decided to pursue
his childhood dream.
In the evening, he approached Au Lham. “I want to tell
you something, Au.”
