Employees are not authorized to represent The Lawson Academy in online communications unless
they have been given express permission by an officer of The Lawson Academy. If employees
choose to personally participate in social media and they choose to identify themselves as
associated with The Lawson Academy, they should ensure they are using sound, professional
judgment, as third parties may mistakenly perceive employees as representing The Lawson
Academy by their communication. If an employee chooses to blog about The Lawson Academy’s
services, he or she must clearly and conspicuously disclose his or her relationship with The Lawson
Academy and that he or she is not authorized to make statements on behalf of The Lawson
Academy. Any statement about WALIPP's services must be true and not misleading. Employees
should not use The Lawson Academy registered or common law trademarks and service marks
("marks") on their personal social media sites without having a valid license to use the marks.

Employees may not use The Lawson Academy time, The Lawson Academy communication
systems or any other The Lawson Academy resources to post personal communications on any
online social network, blog or message board. In using your professional judgment, be respectful
to The Lawson Academy, other employees, customers, partners and competitors. Respect
copyright laws and reference or cite sources appropriately. Plagiarism applies online, as well. If
you are unsure about whether a message would violate The Lawson Academy policy, speak with
your principal or supervisor before posting it.

This policy does not prohibit communications that are protected by federal, state, or local laws.
Communicating with students through personal social media accounts or sites is strictly
               prohibited.

School policy prohibits teachers and staff from engaging in online communications with
students via social media. Violation of this policy may result in termination of employment.

               Student / Parent Handbook

It is your responsibility to become familiar with the information in the Student/Parent Handbook.
Classroom practices should follow the information contained in the handbook.

               Updating the Website

The Lawson Academy’s website (www.theLawsonAcademy.org) is a critical resource for
everyone associated with the Academy. Faculty is responsible to update the website regularly with
Blog information, which can reflect class projects, student successes, events of interest, and other
topics. Maintaining Blogs by content area increases the usefulness of the website and helps to
encourage awareness by students and parents.
