high school teachers are female. Many of them belong to the age range of 31–40 years old.
There were 88 or 49.44 percent belonging to this age range and only few teachers belong to
the age range of 51 years and above. Most of them are single and have only a baccalaureate
degree, with 6-10 teaching experience, and only few have attended the national level 2) The

hand, respondent high school teachers are generally not competent in PowerPoint. The High
school Teachers are very competent in the use of Internet software. 3) There were also very
serious problems met by the teachers and these are lack of attendance to computer training
courses and in–service training for computer literacy, and the fear of the teachers due to lack of
encouragement/motivation. 4) A proposed development program was crafted.
Likewise, the following conclusions were drawn from the findings: 1)Majority of the

of Microsoft power point.3) The high school teachers have encountered serious problems in
computer competency.4) The proposed development program is an answer to the problems met
       by teachers.
On the basis of above findings and conclusions, the following recommendations are
forwarded: 1) The Department of Education (DepEd) national officials should conduct national
level in–service training programs at least twice a year with a minimal registration fee. School
administrators must send their teachers to attend there in–service training. 2) Administrators
must encourage their teacher to enroll in short – term computer courses available on the locality
or to take up units for the masteral degree in information technology. 3) Administrators must
motivate those teachers who have shown fear using the computers so that they will have the
courage to use computers. 4) School administrators should acquire additional computer units for
use of all or many of the teachers. 5) It is recommended that the proposed program be adopted
to enhance the computer competence in instruction for teachers. The researcher may help along
       this endeavor.
