Global Deal Management
About the Team:
The Global Deal Management Team (DMT) is a critical function, which supports the ELA Business of
VMware. DMT Team members are located in APJ, EMEA and AMER offices supporting the Sales or-
ganization. The Deal Management Team is a strategic resource comprised of two teams: Deal Desk
(DD) and the Deal Collaboration team (DCT). DMT also includes the Deal Management Operations
(DMO) group, which provides governance on the ELA process. DMT collaborates with field sales to fa-
cilitate closure of ELA deal structures, working cross-functionally with all departments needed to pro-
duce compliant and approved ELAs/SPFs.
A key note on The RevUp transformation, which aims to simplify and unify internal deal flow policies,
processes, procedures and tools within VMW. This lead to more empowerment of DMT; lowering the
amount of touchpoints and increasing deal velocity. RevUp has been successful in its journey and has
reaped great benefits for DMT and the Sales Organization.
Key Highlight of 2017
One week APJ DMT Summit in Bangalore & EMEA DMT Summit in Cork, which had global participation
from Deal Desk, DCT, Legal, Finance, DMO and Sales saw great benefits of cross-functional collabora-
tion.
