Dry Waste Segregation & Campaigning
The Dry waste segregation & awareness campaign was conducted in collaboration with Saahas at
Koramangala waste collection center.
The objective of this event was to spread awareness about e-waste and dry waste segregation. The
idea behind the campaign was to create a ripple effect with this program and the volunteers could
spread the awareness among their family and friends. The volunteers were divided into groups; the
first half of the day was spent on segregating dry waste and during the second half of the day, vol-
unteers ran a campaign in Koramangala to spread awareness about e-waste segregation.
It was a great learning experience for all the volunteers as we learned how every small change that
we make in our everyday lives can have such a huge impact on the environment.
Cleaning and beautifying the JP Nagar Metro Station
VMware Bangalore employees had an opportunity to tag along with the ’Ugly Indian’ project on Oc-
nd
tober 2 2017. Around 60+ volunteers participated in cleaning and beautifying the JP Nagar Metro
Station. The pillars around the metro line were becoming poster walls and garbage dumping areas.
Volunteers had a rigorous task at hand to clean the area before starting to paint the 12 massive
pillars around the station and made it look beautiful so that people abstain from sticking posters on
these pillars or make it a garbage dumping area. All this could not be possibly done in a day; hence
th
we had 70 volunteers who came together on October 13 2017 and completed the painting work.
After few hours of designing and painting the pillars we all felt we have an artist hidden within us.
