A Bend in the Road
Whilst whispering to each other about how badly
we thought we did on the Common Entrance
Examination, a squeaky familiar voice said, “Good
afternoon students. I have the results.” It was the
voice of our principal, emerging from the
doorway, with what seemed like the most orange
envelope we had ever seen. We all turned around
in alarm and stared silently, with keen faces, as
she revealed what was inside the envelope.
