The 9p. was originally overprinted on the offset-litho printing,
but in 1934 appeared on the Typo printing. The la. (‘POSTAGE’),
overprinted in 1935, was initially issued only in Booklets (4 panes of
four — Price Rl), the outer front cover of the Booklet being over
printed BAHRAIN in red sans-serif capitals (2114 x 3mm.); it sub
sequently appeared in sheet form. The 114a. was only overprinted on
Die I of the basic stamp. Both the deep blue and grey-blue shades of
          the 314a. were overprinted.
Following the accession of King George VI the new Indian issue
          from 3p. to Rs25 (except 214a., 6a. and 14a.) was overprinted and
issued between 1938 and 1941. The original overprintings on the
Rs2 were on stamps with the violet-purple centre; but later over-
printings were on the post-war stamps with deep purple centre. All
values of the subsequent (white background) issue of 1941—43 were
overprinted and issued between 1942 and 1945.

Indian Postal Stationery of both reigns was similarly overprinted.

Crude handstamped forged overprints on used Indian stamps
exist on most values up to the KG V Rs5, and to the KG VI Rs2. A
completely bogus overprint was also done on the Indian KG VI 2&a!
