My experience with tracking and reporting goals has been mainly as a consultant. I still am working as a
consultant on the side. I am assigned to the City to work on goals on the turnaround of employees.
People will hire me to evaluate the current policies and what I am proposing to change. I meet with the
Departments, I study what their current policies and procedures are, and if that process is currently
working with the agency and not only that with the residence, sometimes it might be working for the
agency but it is not working for the residence. It all goes back to the executive team where they are
overwhelmed by complaints. I make sure to work with all of them and providing information and
setting goals to improve any current issues. I will present this during department head meetings or
during a council meetings. These types of goals is more around the consulting vs. a city clerk role.

        5. Please describe your experience with electronic filing systems as it pertains to this position.

Currently I see that the VFWD has electronic records online through posting them with PDF software. I
don't see any electronic software. If I was hired there to work at that agency I would try to bring in
Granicus, which is an agenda management software and records management system. We’re able to
upload in a way that residence are able to read through documents. My experience includes Granicus. I
have worked with on base. I believe those are it. Electronic Records management sofrtwares.
        6. Please describe your experience in evaluating technology and operational procedure utilized in an
administrative department and your approach to implementing change, if needed.

How much does it cost. What are the maintenance procedures. We need to make sure that training is
available, or if we as staff need to take time to train. That's usually how I take time to evaluate new
          technology.

        7. Please describe the roles in which you have had a relationship with a board of directors, and what
your role was in those examples. Can you provide an example of when you have had to research a
regulatory item and present your findings to the Board?

Clerks are sometimes elected by Council members. From time to time Council will come to me and
request information. Sometimes they will want to change something. So let's say they want a copy of
all the amendments on a particular issue. Typically I will do that. I will put together a report and bring in
copies of information, I will present it as an agenda item or as email. Typically if one Council member is
asking for something I will send the info. To all because most likely they have the same questions.

        Communication, Collaboration, and Personnel Management
        8. This position will interact with managers throughout the organization as well as partner
organizations and individuals in the community. How do you evaluate whether your department is
providing a good level of customer service? What do you feel are some of the challenges to achieving
a high level of customer service?

Now a days with all the new technology, people expect all the information they are looking for to be
online. The biggest challenge is ensuring we have the budget or the resources to provide everything
electronically. Let's say residence want to see an update on the kiosk outside. #1 - do we have the
resources to do so. Going to the extent of providing that information. The challenge would be whether
we had the budget or the resources. The way that I evaluate is the less complaints the better - which
means we are doing a good job.
