diverse groups. I have worked through prevailing wage rate issues, and I have supervised employee
groups as high as 170 at a materials recovery facility. I have experience dealing with different
nationalities and races through the years. I am seasoned with teamsters SEIU that would include for
operations, maintenance, customer service, as far as dealing with conflict and various employment
issues everything is important. To develop and improve and meet tasks to be able to achieve their
goals. I have been very successful in working with diverse groups. As far as labor issues, everyone has
value and you have to be able to work through the process.
What do you consider to be your greatest professional strength? What is something you
would like to improve?
I am able to work with and listen to clients and develop a plan for them and work through the
implementation of that plan. I have been able to do that in very diverse situations. The camp fire hit in
Butte and we had to deal with burying an entire city. I am an innovator and I am a strong operations
person - I can build landfills.
Improvement - a lot of times - I am a very hard charger and sometimes need to slow down a little bit.
There are a lot of different diverse opportunities that you have to deal with, you want to be able to work
effectively all day long. There are some instances where you want to take a moment, take a step back,
keep coming up with solutions. Like I said, I have been seasoned over the years with the represented
labor groups - the sky is not falling. I know how to handle different situations.
Anything else you would like to add? If out of area? Are you willing to relocate to the Bay Area
( )
I did a stint in Meriposa, I drove through Merced every morning. My wife and I would love to live there. If
this became a possibility - we would be moving. It is an area I have wanted to be for a while. The waste
authority has great potential. I think it can be more than just managing the garbage in the landfill - there
needs to be more infrastructure developed - think there could be more community.
