most part. We did the same thing with the generator - we put in a flare - we did that to create carbon
credits. After a couple years we realized we were burning a lot of fuel where we might be able to do
something else - you could make fertilizer. We went through everything we could think of and determined
that our best option would be to put in a generator. We have an internal combustion engine. We installed
the generator and have been making electricity for seven years. We make enough electricity to power
600 homes - which is a direct community benefit. We make electricity, reduce odor.

The State of California has passed laws requiring increased recycling of Organic Waste, with the
goal of reducing disposal of organic waste by 50 percent compared to 2014 levels, by 2020.
Please provide your experience with recycling and solid waste in addressing this issue.

I have very limited experience recycling - our mission is operating the landfill - most of it is not organic
material - it is more cardboard. I have very limited experience recycling. In the area there there would be
a lot of organic waste for there to be something done with. I have limited experience. I know a lot of
people are composting organics and making mulch out of it. I haven't delved into it deeply because I
               haven't had a need to.

What is your experience managing diverse groups of employees, mentoring and growing them, and
what employment issues and challenges have you faced in communicating with different personality
               types?

Most of my employees are longterm employees. I'm able to keep employees. Everyone of them is
different individualities. You have to learn with how to deal with each personality and have to work
with that individual to know who he is. It's something I've learned in the 30years of managing people
react different and think different than the ladies in my scale house. I've read up on different
personalities and how to deal with them. You have to learn what they do in their job and try to
understand their point first. Until they realize you care about them they really don't care what you have
               to say.

What do you consider to be your greatest professional strength? What is something you
               would like to improve?

Greatest asset - dealing with the people, like the employees, Board, and public. All of my employees
here know they have to be polite and helpful. My weakest - I'm not mean enough to some people -
               maybe.

Anything else you would like to add? If out of area? Are you willing to relocate to the Bay Area
               ( )

Is willing to come out and meet with the team - would not move all of his stuff. Owns a decent size piece
of property and tractors. Would have to talk to Merced - I would work about six days a week - wouldn't
have anything else to do. Every few weeks would want to come home for a few days. That's a
conversation I would have to have with them.
