               Dear CASA Board of Directors:

Please accept my enthusiastic application to serve as the next Executive Director of the California
Association of Sanitation Agencies. My longstanding commitment to making CASA the most effective and
respected advocacy organization representing the clean water community in California makes me a strong
               candidate for this position.

I have been advocating for the clean water community for many years and feel that my interpersonal skills,
work ethic and proven track record of success demonstrate the qualities necessary to lead our
organization. On behalf of CASA I have cultivated and maintained strong relationships with elected
officials, legislative and administrative staff, and other interest groups and associations that are imperative
for strategic and effective advocacy work. I have been fortunate in my career to receive the guidance of
strong mentors whose valuable insights helped me to develop a keen political sense and the strategic
foresight to navigate, advise and be an effective leader on public policy issues and processes. My
successful advocacy on behalf of our industry is the result of hard work and genuine passion for advancing
the collective interests of the clean water community, and I believe that those qualities would serve me
well as the next Executive Director of CASA.

CASA provides outstanding services to its member agencies and I take great pride in being part of the
professional staff that delivers these membership benefits. For CASA’s next chapter, it will be imperative to
continue that standard of excellence in delivering member services, and also to grow, evolve, and respond
to new challenges and demands that undoubtedly face the clean water sector in the future. I am
committed to the continued and long-term success of CASA and look forward to meeting with the Selection
Committee and Board of Directors to discuss the attributes I can offer as CASA’s next Executive Director.

               Sincerely,

               Jessica Gauger
